Portadown College impressed at all levels as their season got underway on Saturday. The College enjoyed 2 wins and a draw against a spirited Banbridge Academy.

The 1XV ran out eventual 24-17 winners while the 2XV stomped to a 41-19 win meanwhile the Medallion side drew 12-12 in a tense encounter.

Lurgan RFC had a difficult weekend after their 1XV & 2XV suffered defeat in Enniskillen. The 1XV went down 18-47 while the 2XV failed to score, losing by 22 points. It was a tough weekend for the Lurgan club, but they will put it behind them and chalk this one down to experience.

Portadown 1XV & 2XV made the long trip up to play City of Derry and both teams came away with the win.

The 1XV held the home side scoreless and powered ahead to claim a 27-0 win on the road.

The 2XV had a great battle with their City of Derry counterparts, and the lead switched hands several times but it was the visitors who held their nerve to take a well deserved 24-18 win at the end of 80 minutes.

But the stars of Portadown were the Girls U12 Academy team who took centre stage  at Ravenhill. Celebrating the 150th Anniversary match between Ireland & Australia women’s team, the girls put on a fine half-time display, doing their club and families proud

Lurgan College were pleased to announce Training Solutions NI as new 1XV team sponsor for the 24/25 season.
